We all knew this was coming when she tellingly unfollowed him on Twitter, but here's the official confirmation anyway: According to People, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have officially ended their engagement, and reps for both stars have confirmed it's over.
Rumors that the couple's engagement was on the rocks have been floating around for months, but they hit fever pitch after Miley's infamous twerk performance at the recent MTV VMAs: First, Hemsworth was "mortified: by Miley's performance, then he was reportedly sending January Jones dirty text messages and carrying on some illicit affair with her. It all culminated to Cyrus eventually unfollowing Hemswoth on Twitter, which pretty much said all that needed to be said: The two had called it quits.
The now ex-couple first met on the set of their 2010 film, The Last Song, when Miley was 17 and Liam was 20. They began dating for two years, then became engaged in May 2012, only to postpone their wedding earlier this year so Miley could complete work on her new album, Bangerz. Also, twerking lessons take up a lot of time.
This news comes as Cyrus' Harper's Bazaar interview was just released, in which she commented on her recent behavior: "I was an adult when I was supposed to be a kid...so now I'm an adult and I'm acting like a kid."
