It's been a year since Paul Walker tragically died on November 30 in a car accident. But time hasn't healed all wounds, and his family is still reeling from the loss. To commemorate his life on this anniversary, Walker's brother and father talked with E! News about the actor in hopes of keeping his memory alive. It was clear how much they still miss him. "I feel his presence every day," Walker's father said. "I miss talking to him a great deal. He had a good heart."
Part of Walker's good heart was dedicating a lot of his salary to helping others. Walker's dad said his son wasn't fond of the limelight but loved that it allowed him to help people. Walker was the founder of disaster relief organization Reach Out Worldwide, which his brother Cody is running now. The charity is dedicated to helping wherever possible and E! News reports that "in the past 12 months alone, the organization has completed a toy drive for the holidays, stuffed thousands of backpacks for back to school season and even deployed a team to Mayflower, Arkansas to assist in the devastating tornado."
Cody Walker himself was also recently part of a medical mission to help the Philippines after a devastating typhoon. "These missions are truly life changing for all involved," Cody said. "I'm so proud to be a part of this."
Cody may be the one in charge of the charity now, but he says he still draws inspiration from his brother every day. He hopes that what people learn from Paul is to "live your life to the fullest. Laugh a lot, love and find your true happiness. Remember that no matter how cool you think you may be, you're not cool enough to look down on anyone...ever."
Paul Walker will always be missed by his fans and his family, but his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved the most.
