'Fantastic Beasts' Is Getting Closer Than Ever

by Tanya Ghahremani

It's not like any of us really needed confirmation that J.K. Rowling's script for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is amazing, because, you know, everything Rowling writes tends to be flawless, but still: This is good to hear. In the words of David Heyman, who produced all 8 Harry Potter films and will produce Fantastic Beasts, the script for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is finished — as well as "wonderful."

"Jo [Rowling] has written a wonderful script," Heyman shared during an interview with The Telegraph for another literary adaptation, Paddington. "It's early stages. David Yates is directing and we start filming next year. I'm just really excited about it." Yates, of course, directed the final four films in the Harry Potter film franchise — Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, and Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 — so it's already clear that Fantastic Beasts really is going to be a HP family affair. Fitting, since Fantastic Beasts takes place in the HP universe (albeit, 60 years before the events of the first Harry Potter novel).

Heyman wasn't finished yet, though: He rained even more praise on Rowling later, in another Telegraph interview. "She is so smart, and her turn of phrase, the precision of the language she uses, is a joy to behold."

Can I get any more excited for this film? That's a question I seriously ask myself on a daily basis, and, thanks to Heyman, I definitely have my answer now: No, but I will anyway, because OMG this is going to be good.
