Delena Lives On On 'TVD'

THIS IS THE MOMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR, TVD FANS. After weeks of struggling with the prospect of The Vampire Diaries Season 6 ruining Delena for good, there's a shining light at the end of the tunnel. I'm still convinced that Elena might die on TVD , but at least she's finally being honest with herself and, most importantly, Damon. During Thursday night's episode, "Fade Into You," Elena admitted to still having feelings for Damon. Which basically means that she's still in love with him, she just doesn't know it quite yet. And, she finally dropped that dead-weight, pre-med boyfriend, so we're good to go here.

I'm just going to go ahead and give myself a pat on the back because I knew this was coming. All of the compulsion in the world couldn't erase the feelings Elena would have about Damon's return. And, even though she can't get them back easily anymore, they're strong enough to fight their way through. There wasn't much Delena action during Thursday's episode, but I'm quickly learning that with Delena, less is more.

Damon didn't attend Caroline's "friendsgiving" because he was off trying to save Bonnie, along with Alaric and Stefan, like the noble, caring vampire he's become. When Kai's father took Damon prisoner, Stefan and Elena ended up on the phone, talking about WTF was happening. And, unsurprisingly, TVD revealed that Elena actually still cared about Damon and his wellbeing, like, a lot. (Of course Stefan called her out on it because sometimes he's the best.) So, that was TVD's first confirmation that Delena was creeping it's way back into Elena's heart, with or without her memories.

But, when Elena dumped her semi-boyfriend because he just would never understand her life, it became that much more clear that Delena is coming back. And fast. In the final moments of the episode, Elena and Damon sat together at a bar where Elena spelled out her two options — go on with her life and try to be happy or follow the little spark in her heart. Elena then asked Damon to help her bring Bonnie back, because Bonnie is the only person who could help her answer that question. (Perhaps by giving her her memories back?) AND THEN THEY HELD HANDS. Elena put her hand on top of Damon's and, with a knowing look, reminded us all of what we've been missing on TVD.

Now I just can't believe I'm going to have to wait two weeks and then all of the winter hiatus to find out whether or not Delena is getting back together full-force. But, as far as I'm concerned, that answer is a 100 percent yes.
