This is literally the best news to end today with. According to multiple reports, not only is Parks and Recreation's seventh and final season planning to bring back Jon Hamm for his role as an inept park ranger named Ed, but they're also planning to bring back two much more familiar faces to Pawnee: That's right, Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are coming back to Parks and Recreation.
LESLIE KNOPE-LEVEL SCREAM.
Now, now, before you start freaking out like I already am and planning a celebratory waffles and pancakes party, you should know that the duo will only be reprising their roles as Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger for one episode during the show's final season. So, it's not a permanent return, but it is something. Now, you may commence the freak out.
"We made a list of people that we needed to see back one more time. We didn’t get everybody we wanted, because some people had other obligations," showrunner Mike Schur said of the final season, "But a lot of the people we were hoping to see one more time — we managed to make that happen."
It's not clear in what medium Ann and Chris will be returning, but, considering that she, Leslie, Ben, and Chris likely all stayed close after Ann and Chris moved from Pawnee to Michigan, and both Ann and Leslie are relatively new moms, I'm sure the on-screen reunion won't be too hard to facilitate. After all, Ann did appear very easily in an episode late last season after her departure.
Man, this show is going to be so hard to let go of.
Anyway, this is normally where I would place when Parks and Recreation is premiering its seventh season, but since NBC has not yet announced that, have this GIF of Leslie and Ann being the most adorable best friends ever instead.
