How To Re-Create Her 'Mockingjay' Red Carpet Look

Okay, who else is sad that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 press tour is over? I mean, there's always The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 to look forward to, but that's not for another year. Besides, remember all the good times? Elizabeth Banks' jaw-dropping Elie Saab gown. Natalie Dormer's puzzling-yet-awesome Nicholas Oakwood Couture number. That time Jena Malone tried to match her hair to her dress. Good times, you know? Good times. Of course, we can't forget Jennifer Lawrence's makeup, which happened to be seriously on point.

Although she didn't make the most shocking red carpet choices of the bunch, J. Law had pretty much her best run with Dior, ever: I was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous (albeit slightly bed spread-ish) waterfall-hemmed, cascading flower-covered gown she wore to the world premiere, and the interestingly silhouetted, tea-length dress she wore to the Los Angeles premiere was just plain gorgeous. Dior took the princess route this time, and Lawrence — plus her real-life Cinna & Co. — totally ran with it: She was styled to a T, and armed with the prettiest makeup looks around.

Well, I for one, took one look at her L.A. premiere makeup, and had to try my hand at re-creating it — so here goes:

The Base

• Face: Go for a foundation with a dewy finish!
• Brows: Defined, but not overdrawn!
• Cheeks: Pale coral pink with a little shimmer!
• Eyes: Prime them!

The Lips

I started with the lips today — full disclosure, I didn't get the color quite right, but that's because I had to make some adjustments with regards to skin tone. The gorgeous baby pink color Jen's sporting has historically looked terrible on me — you know how sometimes lifeguards put zinc on their lips in the summer? That's what I look like in that shade of lipstick.

Instead, I went for something correspondingly cotton candy-ish, but just a touch deeper (and cooler): I started with a base of Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Honey, and layered Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Fuchsia Finery on top.

The Eyes

I did a wash of a slightly frosty white all over the lid, and shaded a little bit of gunmetal along my lashline and into the outer corner. Luminous shimmerosity is key here!

Next, I lined my top lid with a gel eyeliner. Wing it out slightly, but not too much — you don't want anything too dramatic or thick for this look. Also, you'll want to use waterline on your upper lash line for a clean, high-impact feel.

Finally, finish the look by drawing some black liner onto your lower lashline — and add major mascara. I've been obsessed with Make Up For Ever's Smoky Lash for a while now, since it's good for drama without clumps.
