Well, people, it's time to talk about Selena Gomez because the former Disney star's new single is as far from "Come & Get It" as the 22-year-old can possibly get. On Thursday morning, Gomez released her "The Heart Wants What It Wants" music video and it might be the saddest video on the Internet. It's almost 100 percent certain that Gomez's latest single — which is a part of the singer's upcoming greatest hits album, For You, slated for release on Nov. 24 — is about her tumultuous relationship with one Justin Bieber. But, if I'm going to be completely honest here, as I was watching this video, I was less interested in who it was about and more interested in the fact that we've never seen Gomez so dark and so incredibly sad.

It starts with Gomez's introduction to the video, which is a voiceover of the singer sounding like she's on the verge of breaking down. It will absolutely, without question, break your heart to hear someone in such despair — even after you start having the condescending thoughts about how she gave Bieber so many chances (shame on you). Gomez stutters, her voice catches in her throat, and ultimately manages to get out, "I'm in pain," before "The Heart Wants What It Wants" actually starts playing. And once the song gets started, everything just starts to spiral into the darkest of emotional depths.
