As promised, the trailer for the upcoming Fast and Furious 7 film (now simply titled Furious 7 , officially) dropped Saturday. And, while it's definitely not lacking in the action and entertainment department, it's surprisingly bittersweet — just try to tell me that first image of Paul Walker early on in the trailer, smiling in his car, doesn't make your heart break just a little.
Still, though heartbreaking, it'll likely be a comforting, emotional experience for fans to see Walker's character on screen one last time after Walker was tragically killed about a year ago in a car accident. (According to reports, producers used CGI and Walker's brothers as body doubles to assist in completing Walker's scenes in the film.) I have no doubt that Walker's story in the movie will be wrapped up in a touching way — after filming was completed, producers released a heartwarming tribute to Walker, assuring that the film will be dedicated to his memory.
Furious 7, which is set to be released on April 3, 2015, was directed by The Conjuring's James Wan, and also stars franchise regulars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, and Elsa Pataky. As for new additions to the crew, they include Jason Statham and Kurt Russell.
