7 Great Politician Halloween Costumes from Al Gore, Obama, & More
A lot of the time, when politicians do pretty much anything, it's scary. Except, ironically, when it comes to the scariest time of the year: ol' Hallow's Eve. It turns out, when politicians dress up for Halloween, it's not scary at all. In fact, it's pretty damn funny. Click through to see some Halloween costumes from politicians that are so great, it's downright spooky.
President and Michelle Obama as Leapord and... President?
This was the First couple’s Halloween costume a few years back, in 2009.
I know what you’re thinking, the President looks like his usual self, but just look at Michelle’s ears! And her leopard-print top. Gaww. Who knows what it’ll be this year?
Former Senator Chuck Hagel as Former Senator Joe Biden
This has to be one of my favorite Halloween costumes ever. Back in 2007, then-Senator Chuck Hagel dressed up as then-Senator Joe Biden. So here he is, saying hi to Joe Biden, dressed as Joe Biden. Epic.
Former Veep Al Gore and Wife as Underdog and Sweet Polly Purebred
If Halloween were a competition (and let’s face it, it is), then there would be a clear winner. Former Vice President Al Gore and his former wife, Tipper, in 1999. Just look at the dedication in those costumes! Image: Associated Press
Former Veep Al Gore and Wife as Beauty and the Beast
Weren’t convinced by the last one? These are even better costumes than the ones you’d see at Disneyland. And this is back in ‘85. You couldn’t even online order that stuff. They’ve also done werewolves and full-body mummies in other years.

Former President George W. Bush as Former Veep Al Gore
Another goofy, spoofy, wonderful dress-up: On the left is ol’ George Dubbleya, wearing an Al Gore mask. Jay Leno sits on his right, wearing a George W. Bush mask . Geddit?? This was back in 2000.

Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs as Darth Vader
Ok, so, not strictly a politician. But he gets on here for pure adorableness: Gibbs and his son dressed up as Darth Vader and Buzz Lightyear for the Obamas’ Halloween bash in 2009. Totally what I’ll do, when I have a kid (and am invited to the White House).
