This 'Breakfast Club' Star Is Just Fine

by Allyson Koerner

Folks, we have another celebrity death hoax on our hands. First, Kel Mitchell was thought to be dead. Then, Seinfeld's Wayne Knight was said to be six feet under. We even had death rumors spreading about comedienne Betty White. And over the weekend, The Breakfast Club actor Judd Nelson became the latest celebrity to be pronounced dead. Don't worry, Nelson fans, because his agent Gregg Klein set the record straight over the weekend, and Judd Nelson is indeed alive!

Klein took a hilarious photo of Nelson (below) holding a newspaper showing proof of life and sent it to the Los Angeles Times. According to Nelson's manager, Jean-Pierre Henraux, Nelson is in "perfect" health and will appear on Fox's upcoming drama Empire, where he'll go toe-to-toe with Terrence Howard's character.

Death is no joking matter, and I always wonder how and why these rumors get started. People sure have a grim sense of humor and, apparently, no better way to spend their time.

With all of that said, let's take a moment to reflect on one of Nelson's most popular roles: John Bender in The Breakfast Club. He was a punk. He was a badass. He was hilarious. He was misunderstood. He stole the heart of Molly Ringwald's character, Claire Standish. Don't worry Nelson, we can't forget about you. So, here are just a few reasons why Nelson and John Bender still has a place in our hearts.
