Kate Middleton's Maternity Style is Getting Edgy

We don't normally think of pregnancy as a time to make more adventurous fashion choices, but maybe all expecting ladies should take a page from the Duchess of Cambridge's book! Kate Middleton stepped out in a Temperley London dress covered with cut-outs and it's definitely one of the edgier looks we've seen her in.

Until now, I've been of the rare breed of human not obsessively tracing Middleton's every sartorial move. But ah, things have changed. The Duchess sported the sexy pre-fall number at the Action on Addiction Autumn Gala in London — her third appearance since announcing her second pregnancy. Last week she rocked an ice blue, knee-bearing Jenny Packman and a plaid Alexander McQueen dress coat that were both in keeping with her usual impeccable style. The black Temperley dress, which she paired with black pumps and a black clutch, is her most risqué look yet.

Of course, this is Kate Middleton we're talking about — her version of risqué is still as classy as can be. But it's great to see her showing some skin and proving that pregnant women can be stylish and sexy. I cannot wait to see what she'll wear for future pre-baby public appearances. After all, Middleton is the Duchess of Hot Maternity Wear.

Such perfection. Bad news if you were hoping to get the look, though — according to E!, the dress sold out on the Temperley London website less than 24 hours after the Duchess was photographed wearing it. Better luck next time, Royals.
