Guys. Guys. It happened. Chase Utley finally responded to Mac's love letter from the 2009 episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, "The World Series Defense," and IT IS PERFECT.
If you don't recall, in the episode Mac wrote Phillies star Chase Utley a handwritten letter of devotion, in which he tells Chase Utley that he feels the two of them are alike, that they would make great friends, that they should play catch together, that he likes Chase's hair, and then he asks if Chase has a good relationship with his dad. He also adds stickers to the bottom, which you can see above. Basically, one of It's Always Sunny's greatest gags ever.
It only took him four years, but Chase has finally responded to Mac's handwritten letter with a handwritten letter of his own — and, spoiler alert, there are stickers on Chase's letter as well. I won't give too much away, because this is the sort of thing that really needs to be savored by watching the video down below unfold yourself, not reading some block of text explaining it beforehand. It's just that wonderful.
I'm already watching it again. GUYS. THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for its ninth season on Wednesday, Sept. 4, on the new network FXX.
