Her Latest Mag Cover Is (Basically) Makeup-Free

Kerry Washington is the star of one of Fall's hottest TV series, a new mom, and wore one of my favorite red carpet looks when she killed it in a pink Miu Miu at the 2013 Oscars. And she looks flawless without make-up. Obviously. Kerry Washington is on Allure 's November cover in lovely, fresh-faced makeup, showing us that less is definitely more.

Though she's not totally makeup free — she has on some mascara and brown eyeshadow for sure — she lets her natural features shine through, expertly rocking Spring 2015's minimal makeup trend. It's certainly refreshing to see more actresses embracing their natural state and foregoing the all-too-typical glammed up, heavily Photoshopped cover. The Scandal star gives us a way that you can still wear makeup (the Marc Jacobs show might have been a bit extreme for me) without going over the top. So celebrities should take a pointer from Washington, because the less made up and photoshopped they appear routinely, the less likely they will end up on a "Stars Without Makeup!" list. And those babies can be quite revealing.

So props to Allure for giving us another radiant, toned-down cover. I can't wait to see the rest of her editorial.
