13 Weird Facial Expressions From Politicians That We Can't Understand Or Explain

It's hard to keep a straight face all the time, even for politicians. They may have some of the most important and high-stress jobs in the world — this month alone, Obama has to deal with terror organization ISIS, the deadly Ebola virus on U.S. soil, continuous protests in Ferguson, and much more. Most people taking on this much pressure would probably have the same stern face plastered on day in and day out, kind of like this, but in another reminder that they're still people, politicians will occasionally let their faces loose.

From President Obama to his Russian adversary across the globe, the ever-stoic Vladimir Putin, these elected officials seem to have some pretty limber facial expressions. Former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin has so many wacky expressions, you have to wonder if she might not have full control over her facial muscles. The same can be said about Rob Ford, but his steady rotation of funny faces are less kooky and more "I'm kind of spaced out right now and smiling for no reason." And for former vice president Dick Cheney, a weird expression for him would actually be a smile, since he forms so few — but we did one better than that.

Take a look at some of the world's most recognizable politicians making some of the weirdest faces.

House Speaker John Boehner’s expression here isn’t so much weird as it is seriously, incredibly sinister, devious, and creepy. He’s probably thinking, “Obama, I’ll show you my deadly virus.”
