31 Thoughts "Out of the Woods" Will Leave You With

by Jamie Primeau

On Monday night at 11 p.m., something very important happened. Well, if you're a Taylor Swift fan, that is. Swift's single "Out of the Woods" was released from her upcoming album 1989. Before this, "Shake It Off" was our only glimpse into the new album, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing since it's quite catchy, but as soon as "Out of the Woods" debuted, it hopped to the top of the charts, basically making Swift the queen of iTunes. (Her singles are both No. 1 and No. 2!)

This much-anticipated song is believed to be about her relationship with Harry Styles. And hey, based on this in-depth analysis of the song, it could be true. The song's lyrics match up with what we know about Haylor's relationship. And in case you were worried, the song definitely is worth the hype. Personally, I didn't know if it could top my personal fave T. Swift anthem, "22" — that song came out right around my 22nd birthday, so of course I was obsessed and played it on repeat — but surprisingly, "OOTW" has exceeded my expectations. I wonder if my roommates got annoyed by how much I've replayed it already. (Sorry, not sorry!)

Check out the song here as you read through the typical thought process of listening to it.... Or at least what went through my head as I played it for the millionth time:

It sounds like something big is about to happen.

"o0o0oh. Oo0oh." Whose voice is that?

Oh, yay! Taylor's here.

"We were lying on your couch." Aww, imagine Harry and Taylor laying on his couch!

Wow, Harry Styles likes Polaroids?

Actually, he would. He seems artsy like that.

"We were in screaming color." True, comparatively everyone else was in black & white.

So what exactly do you mean when you say "out of the woods?"

Are we out of the woods yet?

Am I the only one picturing Hunger Games right now?

Last December... That is when they dated.

Do you think she goes "back to December all the time"?

Speaking of December, we're only like two months away from Christmas.

"Built to fall apart"? That's sad.

Oh, "fall back together." Much better.

Move the furniture so they could dance?

OMG, imagine Harry and Taylor dancing around a living room. So cute!

"Two paper airplanes flying." Wow, excellent analogy.

Now that I think about it, I haven't made a paper airplane in a while.

So are we out of the woods yet? Guess not.

Are we in the clear yet? I don't know. Are we?!!

Wow, this chorus is so catchy.

Wait, 20 stitches in the hospital room? What kind of brakes did he hit too son?

Aww, poor Harry! They both started crying? </3

Are we out of the woods yet?

Now I'm just picturing Taylor walking around the forest like Little Red Riding Hood.

Get it? Because she loves the color red...

This chorus will be stuck in my head all day.

No, I take that back. It may be stuck there forever.

But no seriously, are we out of the woods yet?

GOOD.
