Kim Kardashian employs Chris McMillan as her hairstylist. That's a big job, since Kim Kardashian's hair is her crowning glory and the subject of much discussion. And now, after years of long, long layers, Kim Kardashian has a new hairstyle. McMillan just shared a pic of Kardashian, labeling her famous, chocolate-y, and long locks "piecey." So Mrs. Kanye West enjoyed either a new style or an actual haircut, but it's probably not a drastic "hairkut." In fact, it appears as though the mother of North West got some long layers worked into her usual curtain of hair.
McMillan is the same stylist who gave Jennifer Aniston the famous "Rachel" cut, with those shaggy, piecey layers which went on to become iconic, despite Aniston's vocal distaste for the cut itself. McMillan also sheared off Miley Cyrus' locks and topknot into her now-famous pixie, so if there's anyone who's qualified to switch up Kardashian's signature 'do, it's him.
Kardashian's hair seems a bit wavier and beachier than we're used to. And the blue'ish tint to whatever IG filter that McMillan used when posting the photo, along with the fact that it's a head shot that doesn't show the entire breadth and scope of her hair, makes it hard to ascertain or glean concrete details about the latest Kim style.
While she is known for really long and really straight and really shiny strands, Kardashian has gone blonde, gotten blunt bangs, and tried different things here and there. But for the most part, Kimmy has remained loyal to the long look — and I'd love to see her try something different.
See her "piecey" look below.
Hmm. It's slightly shaggier in this pic, but it's hard to tell if she really went any shorter. It's refreshing to see Kardashian ditch those big, overly styled, curling iron-created waves in favor of something with a more touchable, natural texture.
Kardashian has done bangs.
And ombre, roots-celebrating blonde with face-framing long layers.
And a more golden blonde, with a deep side part.
But that big cascade of waves is her signature. Still, I can't wait to see if she really did go for a Kylie-style chop.
