Showtime's 'Twin Peaks' Needs These 10 Characters to Make a Comeback

Here's some damn fine news to go with your damn fine cup of coffee: Twin Peaks is actually, definitely returning, 25 years later, as foreshadowed in the original series. David Lynch is slated to direct ALL nine episodes of Season 3, which will return to that dark, evil and campy place that Twin Peaks inhabits. Since the iconic question "Who killed Laura Palmer?" was already answered, my next question is: Who's returning to the Black Lodge in the new season? Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle Maclachlan) is almost certainly on board —here are some other characters we want to see back in town.

Agent Dale Cooper

Kyle Maclachlan is the heart and soul of the show. Agent Dale Cooper is the bouyant and enthusiastic FBI agent who rolls into town and enjoys his coffee and pie, but is soon infected by the deep surreal darkness of investigating the murder of Laura Palmer. He’s already signed on to return, thank goodness.

The Man from Another Place

My favorite mysterious Black Lodge stranger, I want to see the Man from Another Place (played by Michael J. Anderson) return. More dance moves!

The Log Lady

We need the Log Lady (Margaret Lanterman) and her mystical log back for more cryptic premonitions.

Audrey Horne

Sherilyn Fenn plays Audrey, the saucy, troubled daughter of Benjamin Horne (who owns half the town) who falls in love with Agent Dale Cooper. She’s dark, subversive and assertive, and though it’s unclear if she lives or dies in the finale, I hope she survived to bring back her sass to Season 3. And her outfits —she’s my Twin Peaks style icon.

The Giant

Though the Giant’s still ambiguous, I want to see him again (played by Carel Struycken) in the waiting room.

Leland Palmer

Leland, you tragic, terrible man. If you’ve seen the finale (I know it’s kind of funny to protect spoilers from a show that aired 25 years ago, but I gotta be considerate) you know that Laura Palmer’s father’s return might be next to impossible, buuuut that’s what the Black Lodge is for — anyone can come and go, you never know. Ray Wise, please make an appearance!

Killer BOB

Evil of all denim-clad evil! BOB (played by a set dresser, Frank Silva) is the possessing, nightmare inducing terror of Twins Peaks, and we want to see what kind of hell he hath wrought in the 25 years since the season 2 finale.

Donna Hayward

Even Miss Goody-Two Shoes Donna Hayward had a dark side, like everyone else in town. Even though Lara Flynn-Boyle forewent reprising her role in the movie Fire Walk with Me, I implore her to come back for the 25th year revival.

Sheriff Harry Truman

Probably the most moral man in all of Twin Peaks, Sheriff Truman, played by Michael Ontkean, is the good-hearted cop that assists Agent Cooper in the mystery of Laura Palmer’s murder (and all the subsequent strangeness that unravels). His dynamic with Cooper is just too good, and we need him back. (BONUS: If Truman’s back, we want him to bring along Lucy Moran — played by Kimmy Robertson — with her cartoonish voice, crimped ponytail and epic eye-rolls.)

Laura Palmer

I don’t care if it’s impossible! David Lynch can do anything! She even said she’d come back herself! Come back, Sheryl Lee!
