'The Originals'' Joseph Morgan Vs. Klaus: 13 Ways The Actor Enjoys Life More Than The Hybrid Enjoys Death

The Originals premieres Monday Oct 6 on the CW and the main concern here is the return of one Klaus Mikaelson. Though Klaroline fans begrudge the spinoff for ruining their 'ship, The Originals seems to have done well for Joseph Morgan and his ruthless character. It's a tall order, for sure. We may be getting a more emotional Klaus in Season 2, so let's take a moment to look at the man behind the fangs.

Morgan once described Klaus to to TVLine, as being “… not so good with allies, is he? He doesn’t play well with others. He’s good at temporary allies, like allies for an episode or two and then the old stab-in-the-back or whatever. He works with other people, but there’s no sort of fast ally that he has that’s solid there for him from the beginning to the end. He fluctuates. When it suits him, he allies himself with other people. When it doesn’t, he’s the first one to jump ship.”

Unsurprisingly, the newly-married Morgan is nothing like his ruthless small-screen counterpart. And here are 13 unquestionable reasons why...

He has actual friends

Morgan clearly shares a brotherly love with his onscreen brother, Daniel Gilles.

He supports good causes

He did a walkathon for the Sarah Jones Film Foundation with his new wife, TVD’s Persia White (who plays Bonnie’s mom, so wrap your head around that).

He's happily married

That’s right, Joseph Morgan married fellow TVD actress Persia White this summer in Jamaica. They are disgustingly romantic. Persia played a witch on the CW series, so you know that separates Morgan from Klaus enough right there since he’s never been one to get along with the witchy kind.

He and his wife are adorable

No angst, kidnapping, or betrayal here.

He's multi-talented

That is what you’d call what he’s doing here, right?

He games

At least if this pic of him playing Mario Kart at San Diego Comic-Con is any indication.

He is an avid reader

He even gets into graphic novels and novellas. But I supposed Klaus is pretty learned, too.

He's a winner, literally

Morgan won a People’s Choice Award in January. Klaus could never garner that kind of support IRL.

He's got jokes

I’m going to wonder what this sign was originally meant for all day. And if that’s not tickling your funny bone, the hilarious “My Dinner with Joseph Morgan” promo video will certainly show off Morgan’s self-aware humor.

More of a culture vulture

I don’t think this brooding hybrid would take the time to catch an immersive theatrical production and recommend it to the general public. But there are masks and blood, so…

He tweets his paintings

Instead of, you know, burning them in a fit of heartbreak or whatever that was.

He's not alone

He’s got a whole cast is full of goofballs who love each other, even Morgan.

Taking time to smell the roses

I had to include one last shot of this happy couple. I seriously can’t get over how cute they are, and how they’re more of a work relationship than a “showmance.”
