Who else suddenly feels like they're back in the era of Motorola Razrs, bug-eye sunglasses, and The Hills marathons — otherwise known as 2006? Because I know I do after hearing this news: According to Us Weekly, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are joining weTV's Marriage Boot Camp , making their return to television of the reality variety totally official and slated for 2015.
"GET READY WERE BACK ON @wetv," Montag posted on her Instagram account today, alongside a picture of her and Pratt with the rest of the Marriage Boot Camp season 2 cast. Sitting next to the overly-tanned, very blonde duo are other reality TV couples like Aviva and Reid Drescher of Real Housewives of New York, and Tyson Apostol and Rachel Foulger of Survivor fame.
This isn't the first time that Montag and Pratt will have been back on reality television since the end of The Hills in 2010, but it is the first time they'll be back in American mainstream: In 2013, they attempted to take the UK by storm with Celebrity Big Brother UK , but that didn't seem to get much attention here in the US — unlike Stephanie Pratt's attempt, which seems to be going much better.
Hopefully, this new attempt goes better than the last time they were on reality TV, because they got to some dark places back then. Fame nearly destroyed them the first time — maybe they would be better off with, you know, regular people jobs or something. It's not so bad not being famous, guys! No one cares if you hang out in your living room in snuggies and work on your night cheese if you're a regular person (except, you know, your dignity, but that's squashed out easily). Think about it.
Marriage Boot Camp returns to TV in early 2015.
