Baby's First Front Row
Oh, 15-month-olds: Another day, another milestone. When you're the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, though, your milestones are slightly bigger. North West attended her first fashion show today in Paris and sat front row, no less.
While I'd expect the most stylish baby in the world's first show to be Givenchy (creative director Riccardo Tisci is a close pal of the Kardashian Klan) or Balmain (head designer Olivier Rousteing is also a family friend), North made her first PFW appearance at Balenciaga. Helmed by Alexander Wang, this was an unexpected choice. Maybe Wang has added to power couple to his little black book after all.
Nori's all-black-errething outfit included Timberland boots, a leather circle skirt, and — wait for it — a Yeezus T-shirt. (A shocker not because it was a Kanye West top, but because it was a tee.) Nori, of course, made it work.
While Nori isn't the first tot to sit front row at a Fashion Week show (Harper Beckham attended her mom's presentation last year — ironically, a photo of her being admired by Anna Wintour while sitting on David's lap is my Facebook cover photo), I'd imagine it's pretty uncommon. Which leads me to my big question, dare I ask it: Was North actually invited, or did Kimye just kind of roll up with her in tow?
If this is the case, I should probably get to know someone lucky enough to sit front row at one of these shows and just go with them. "No, no, Mr. Security Guard. I'm sitting on Kanye's lap. It's fine."
