Another John Green Book Coming to the Big Screen

by Emma Goddard

Not long ago, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort broke hearts and made moviegoers cry literal rivers thanks to their truly successful and touching roles in The Fault in Our Stars — of course, which was adapted from John Green’s book of the same title. TFIOS grossed over $300,000,000 worldwide, not only for completely staying true to the book, but also for its heartbreaking and true-to-life story that's so prevalent in Green's other works as well. In fact, the film was so well-received that fans began to take to his other novels as well, and now plans for a film adaptation of Paper Towns is already in the works starring Cara Delevingne in the lead role. And now, even better, there's this: Apparently, Green’s Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances is also coming to the big screen.

Move over Nicholas Sparks, am I right?

If you're not familiar, Let It Snow is a collection of short stories written by Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, and revolves around three teenagers of the same town experiencing a snowstorm during the Christmas season. During this time, their personal stories of relationships and love somehow become intertwined.

Both Green and Johnson shared the thrilling news through Twitter on Friday, with few other details other than the fact that Universal Pictures will be working with the trio on their book. This comes just three months after Green fans discovered that Sarah Polley was being considered to adapt and direct his book Looking for Alaska, which Paramount has the rights to.

Green is definitely doing well for himself. Although there’s no telling when we’ll hear about casting or a release date, it's still exciting news and something to look forward to. Additionally, if things keep going the way they are, it's likely this won't be the last John Green adaptation coming to the big screen — and, after all, Green still has many other works that have yet to receive any attention.
