Finally, You Can Dress Just Like Olivia Pope

by Rosie Narasaki

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Olivia Pope is the best dressed woman on TV... right? So it makes sense that she would get her own The Limited x Scandal collection over any other TV bad bitch, right? Well, that's kind of hard to say definitively, actually — so let's see how she measures up against some of the other most fashionable shows:

Q: How would her ultra-professional sheath dresses look in the exam rooms at Shulman and Associates?

A: Great, and you know Dr. Lahiri be raiding her closet in no-seconds flat (especially since Mindy has admitted to fantasizing about exes mistaking her for Kerry Washington).

Q: How would her classic blouses look stomping the runway that is Rosewood High?

A: Super-chic, and Spencer Hastings would be first in line to swap fashion tips/career advice.

Q: How would her wide-legged trousers look in the corner office of Sterling Cooper and Partners?

A: Awesome, especially if Peggy was wearing them.

Okay, she passed the ever-rigorous Mindy Project/PLL/Mad Men test — so I think we can safely say that she's the most stylish lady on TV... and now the aforementioned style guru is passing her grand wisdom to us, in the form of a very fabulous collaboration (and affordable — prices range from $49 to $248) with The Limited.

Co-designed by Lyn Paolo (costume designer for Scandal), Elliot Staples (head of design for The Limited) and Olivia Pope — I mean, Kerry Washington — herself, the resulting collection is, in Washinton's own words, created for the "real-life gladiators and everyday fashionistas" of the world. It launches next week on September 23rd, so let's take a look at the must-have pieces of the line.

Drape Collar Wrap Coat

Fabulously draped coats are a must in the Scandal world — this one looks luxuriously soft. Bonus: it also comes in pale pink!

Elbow Sleeve Sweater

Speaking of comfortable... this shawl-collared long cardigan means you can look and feel like a million bucks.

Black and White Sheath

Here's one of those very special dresses that can effortlessly go straight from the office to a frou-frou French restaurant for dinner.

Cape Sleeve Trench

I don't think it gets any more Olivia Pope than a short-sleeved, bright white, caped mini-trench coat. Also, those flared trousers are to die for.

Little White Suit

As long as we're playing with the bright whites: how about some military-inspired suiting?

Plaid Cape

Because everyone needs a plaid cape.

Tulip Skirt Sheath

This is so perfect, it doesn't even need a caption.

So what do you think? Will you be lining up outside the door on September 23rd? I certainly will be!
