Yep, Dave Annable From 'Red Band Society' Was On 'Brothers & Sisters' Once Upon A Time

It's the middle of September, which means it's Fall Premiere Season! Over the next few months, all the networks will roll out their new shows, and hope that viewers and critics like what they see. On September 16, FOX will premiere Red Band Society , starring Dave Annable and Octavia Spencer. In his latest role, Annable plays a kind-hearted doctor who ministers to sick teenagers. Though he may not be a household name yet, the actor has been been working steadily for the past 10 years, starring in four different TV shows since 2005. Here's why you know his friendly face...

'Reunion'

After playing bit parts in a few TV movies, Reunion was the first big TV show Annable landed. The high-concept 2005 series started with a present-day murder, then flashed back to 1986. Each subsequent episode moved forward one year until, by the end of the 20-episode first season, it was back to 2005 and the killer was caught. Or at least, that was the plan for Reunion. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after 13 episodes, leaving the plot stranded in 1998.

Still, it was the first time most audiences were exposed to Annable, and we got to see him in a variety of silly looks from the ’80s and ’90s (which may have been the purpose of the show in the first place).

'Brothers & Sisters'

Reunion’s cancellation turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because it left Annable available to do Brothers & Sisters, a highly successful family drama that lasted five seasons. Annable played Justin Walker, the youngest of his five siblings and a veteran with some addiction issues. Justin really loved his family: so much so that he ended up dating his secret half-sister — but only immediately after he found out that she wasn’t really his half-sister. So that’s totally fine.

'Fetching'

After Brothers & Sisters ended in 2011, Annable was cast in Fetching, a web-series about a woman who quits her highly lucrative job as a lawyer to follow her dream and open up a doggie day care. Annable plays a potential love interest… who is allergic to dogs. I don’t want to live in a world where say, Happy Endings just couldn’t drum up enough viewers to stay on the air, but this plotline still somehow exists.

'666 Park Avenue'

Moving on. Next, in 2012, Annable took another leading role in 666 Park Avenue, a creepy horror series about the inhabitants of a New York residential hotel, who experience unsettling paranormal events. It was sort of an American Horror Story-lite. Annable played the hotel’s new manager, a trusting midwesterner who doesn’t realize something’s wrong until it’s too late. 666 Park Avenue had a great cast (including Terry O’Quinn from Lost and Vanessa Williams), but it was cancelled after just one season.

'Red Band Society'

Hot doctor alert: starting September 27, you can see Annable each week in Red Band Society. He plays Dr. Jack McAndrew, a pediatric surgeon whom a young cancer patient seeks out for treatment. Hopefully he’ll get plenty of scenes with his boss, played by none other than Mandy Moore. My inner-tween is very excited. Could a potential romance be in the works between these two? I’m leaning towards a “yes.”
