Welp, this is going to send the Internet into a frenzy. According to Empire Online, Mad Men star and role model for big-breasted women everywhere, Christina Hendricks will portray a stripper in the upcoming film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's wildly successful novel, Dark Places.
Hendricks joins an already star-studded cast featuring Charlize Theron, Corey Stoll, Chloë Moretz, Rescue Me star Andrea Roth, and Nicholas Hoult. In the film, she'll reportedly portray Krissi Cates, a "down-on-her-luck stripper" (ugh, sterotypes) "who also has a history of accusing Stoll's character of misdeeds, and is harboring a secret about what really happened to the Day clan."
The Day family mentioned are the center of the plot: The story revolves around Libby Day (Theron), whose family was murdered when she was a young girl, and who accused her brother (Stoll) of committing the deed.
Anyway, back to Hendricks — she's apparently in high demand these days! In addition to Dark Places, she'll be starring in two other upcoming films (not as a stripper): Her Mad Men co-star John Slattery's upcoming movie God's Pocket, and her Drive co-star Ryan Gosling's directorial debut How to Catch a Monster.
Dark Places should be released sometime late next year.
