18 Celebrities Who Fell In Love On Set (Whether They Stayed In Love Is a Whole 'Nother Story)
It's crazy to think that it was almost 10 years ago that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie first laid eyes on one another on the set of their action film Mrs. and Mr. Smith. What could have been just another sexy action flick turned into one of the most buzzed about films — in part because we were viewing what was widely speculated to be the film where Pitt and Jolie first fell in love. We all know the controversy that surrounded the new Mr. and Mrs. Jolie-Pitt once upon a time, but they're hardly the first actor couple to find love at their place of work. Celebrities fall in love on set all the time — whether or not it works out after the movie or TV show wraps up is an entirely different story. Check out the 18 other celebrity couples who fell in love as the cameras rolled.
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams
The two Notebook co-stars fell in love on set in 2004, but things weren’t always such smooth sailing. According to the film’s director Nick Cassavetes, Gosling and McAdams had a tumultuous relationship on set, which culminated in Gosling asking for McAdams to be removed from set.
'Gossip Girl'
The first couple we rooted for on The CW series were also a thing when the cameras stopped rolling.

Blake Lively & Penn Badgley
Lively and Badgley met on the set of their CW series Gossip Girl in 2007. Their relationship ended in 2010, but the two worked together on the show until it ended in 2012. The actors may have split, but their characters, Dan and Serena, did not — they got married in the series finale.
'Once Upon a Time'
This couple proved that their love story wasn't just a fairytale.

Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas
The now-married actors met on the set of ABC series Once Upon a Time in 2011. Fittingly, they portray Snow White and her Prince Charming.
'High School Musical'
The leads of this movie musical were more than just co-stars.

Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron
These two Disney stars met on the set of the mega TV movie High School Musical in 2006 and dated until 2010. Did I mention that they were adorable together? Here’s the evidence.
'True Blood'
This HBO series was inconsistent at best, but the love between these two co-stars was always true.

Stephen Moyer & Anna Paquin
The True Blood co-stars met at their audition for the vampire drama and have been together ever since. The couple married in 2010 recently welcomed twins.
'Northern Lights'
Working together on this Lifetime TV movie sparked an affair between its two married leads.

Leann Rimes & Eddie Cibrian
Talk about draaaama. These two met on the set of their Lifetime movie Northern Lights… back when they were still married to other people. If you need a refresher on their complicated romance, I’m sure that their new Vh1 reality show will dive into all of that.
'Daredevil'
Though this couple met on the set of Pearl Harbor in 2003, they fell in love on the set of Daredevil in 2004.

Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck
Affleck may be playing Batman now, but back in the day this movie star was a different superhero. He fell in love with his now-wife Garner on the set of Daredevil in 2003, in which he played the titular character and she portrayed fellow crime fighter Elektra.
'Dexter'
It was a sibling love affair on the set of Dexter — and we're not talking about that awkward arc in Season 6.

Michael C. Hall & Jennifer Carpenter
These two may have played adoptive siblings on Dexter, but in real life these two actors were very much in love. The co-stars eloped in 2008 while working on the Showtime series. Though they divorced in 2011 (and the series ended in 2013) the couple has remained professional and insists that there is nothing but “love and respect” between them.
'The Big Bang Theory'
Life imitated art on this CBS sitcom.

Johnny Galecki & Kaley Cuoco
Galecki and Cuoco met on the set of their long-running sitcom The Big Bang Theory and quickly started dating… in secret, that is. Cuoco eventually admitted to CBS in 2010 that she and Galecki had dated for almost two years but kept their relationship off the press’ radar. The co-stars have remained close friends since their breakup.
'All My Children'
These soap stars had a storyline that closely mirrored their real-life love.

Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos
The bubbly talk show host met her actor husband on the set of All My Children in 1995. Consuelos played Ripa’s love interest, and the two made life-imitate-art the following year when they secretly got hitched.
'The O.C.'
The real-life love story between this onscreen couple was almost as cute as the one we watched on the Fox drama.

Rachel Bilson & Adam Brody
Bilson and Brody met on the set of their Fox series The O.C. in 2003, and dated until 2006. (Seth and Summer forever, though.)
'Heroes'
These co-stars hooked up behind the scenes of the superhero show.

Milo Ventimiglia & Hayden Panettiere
The Heroes stars met on set in 2007, though kept their relationship low-key due to their 12 year age difference. (Panettiere was only 18 when they began dating.) They broke up after two years together.
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'
The couple didn't play love interests on Buffy the Vampire Slayer but did find love in real life.

Alexis Denisof & Alyson Hannigan
The shadiest guy on Finding Carter and the How I Met Your Mother actress met on the set of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer in 1999. They married in 2003.
'One Tree Hill'
This couple got married while their characters were still in high school.

Sophia Bush & Chad Michael Murray
Brooke and Lucas from One Tree Hill weren’t destined to be endgame — on screen or off. They met on set in 2003 and started dating shortly afterwards. They married in 2005… and divorced in 2005 after allegations that Murray cheated on Bush with none other than Paris Hilton.
'The Vampire Diaries'
This couple had a far less dramatic relationship offscreen than their characters did on.

Ian Somerhalder & Nina Dobrev
Another CW couple! Somerhalder and Dobrev met on the set of The Vampire Diaries in 2010 and began dating shortly afterward. Though they’ve since split, the two have remained friendly exes.
'Twilight'
This vampire couple may have had an even more dramatic relationship offscreen.

Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson
Stewart and Pattinson met while playing the ultimate fantasy couple, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, on the set of the 2009 film Twilight. The two dated on and off for years — with rumors of their “open relationship” floating around Hollywood — but broke up for good in 2014.
'The Last Song'
Before Miley twerked her way to the top of the charts, she was making out with her soon-to-be fiancee on the set of this film.

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth
The “Wrecking Ball” singer and the Hunger Games star met on the set of the Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Last Song in 2010 and were engaged to be married only two years later. Unfortunately, their bliss wouldn’t last very long — they called off the wedding in 2013. Guess Miley knew it wasn’t (t)werkin’ out.
'Slumdog Millionaire'
This sweet love story is so much better knowing that the couple in it got together off screen.

Dev Patel & Freida Pinto
The Slumdog Millionaire co-stars were ridiculously cute on camera, and are even cuter off it. They started dating after meeting on set in 2009 and are still together. Looks like it really was fate!
