Good news for monarchy fans and style watchers: English rose Kate Middleton is pregnant again. Remember how Middleton and American reality queen Kim Kardashian were pregnant with their first children, Prince George and Princess North, respectively, at the same time? Middleton's pulled together, classic, and chic pregnancy style was celebrated, rightfully so, while Kardashian's pregnancy style, which often saw her wearing leather, an unforgiving and not-really-right-for-her-condition fabric, was harshly criticized. Now that Middleton is expecting her second child, I'm hoping that the ever-fashionable wife and mother of the future kings of England repeats that amazing style the second time around.
(BTW, no disrespect meant towards Kimmy — I can't wait until she's preggers again, as well, to see if she does things differently or sticks to her maternity-wear guns.)
In 2013, Middleton's pregnancy style was as polished and tailored as her other everyday looks. Since she was expecting an incredibly important heir to the throne, she couldn't afford to toss on sweats and lounge around. The British press would have pounced, because heaven forbid we let the lady relax a little. But, hey, at least that means we all got some awesome maternity style inspiration out of it.
In honor of the Duchess of Cambridge's second child, I'm fondly looking back at her previous pregnancy fashion highs. Get ready for tons of heels and hats.
1. Gender Neutral In A Fitted Yellow Coat
Middleton went gender neutral in a bright yellow coat that draped her baby bump, flawlessly so.
2. Seriously, Coats Were Her Friends
Here's another fitted, tailored coat in mint green that enhanced (and didn't hide) her expanding bump. Middleton also showed off her toned, killer stems throughout most of her first pregnancy. Kudos to her for being able to rock heels.
3. Peachy Keen
Being preggers agreed with Middleton in multiple ways, from the glow in her cheeks to her closet. This peach ensemble was incredibly pretty and appropriate. Dang, she looks amazing.
4. Polka Dotted Baby Love
Could her polka dot dress have been any cuter? I love how she topped a simple dress with a cropped black blazer and carried a clutch. She still dressed like Kate, but with her plus one at top of mind.

5. Baby Blue For Baby
This sleeveless baby blue shift dress was another flawless pregnancy moment for Middleton.
6. Pretty Prints
Middleton often relied on shift-like dresses during George's gestation period, but they were never, ever boring. This print frock is so mod and totally adorbs; I want to wear it even though there isn't a bun in my oven.
7. Red Hot Mama
Middleton's coats are her signature, whether pregnant or not, and she was a red hot (almost) mama in her crimson coat, paired with slouchy black boots. Middleton made pregnant look sexy. Yes!
8. Tartan For Two
Middleton really and totally understood how to dress for two. This tartan coat fit her and her baby bump on so many levels. It was crisp and classic.
9. Wrap Dress Winner
Middleton often rocked wrap dresses like nobody's bidness. Since this pregnancy is her second time around, does that mean her maternity style will be even more fabulous? Unfair... but I can't wait.
