Her Response To The Photo Leak Is Powerful

A lot of women are still reeling from the celeb photo scandal that erupted on Sunday — and rightfully so. Some celebs, like Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice, have been laughing the scandal off, but Chuck and 24: Live Another Day star Yvonne Strahovski has a powerful response to the photo leak, and it's well worth reading. Sure, Victoria Justice's remarks that this should be "nip[ped] in the bud [...] *pun intended*" are cute, but when hundreds of women's privacy is violated, it warrants something bigger than a chuckle because it's about, as Strahovski puts it, integrity.

Strahovski shared an image on her Instagram account that said:

It is with great sadness and disappointment that I address this hacking issue. To my fellow actresses whose privacy has been invaded—my heart goes out to you. I'm so disappointed that there are people in the world who feel the need to comitt these criminal acts. Some of these pictures are fake, my own included. Regardless—I ask you all—do not share the links. Don't even look at the photos. Just let people have the privacy they deserve. Integrity is sacred.

Strahovksi's response serves a reminder that — while some may find it easy to shrug off that there are nude pics of them available on the Internet — it's about privacy, not naked photos. We all deserve the right to do as we please in our personal lives without the fear that someone has a desire to intrude upon what we do.
