The season finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is nothing short of an emotional roller coaster. For every shot of a beaming Kim Kardashian getting ready to marry Kanye West, we get Scott Disick reacting horribly to Kourtney Kardashian's pregnancy news. It wasn't just his first immediate reaction that was upsetting, but everything that followed. After having a conversation with Kourtney in which he made it quite clear that he is not excited they're having a third child, Scott went to Mexico for a club appearance, and didn't come home when he was supposed to. This was all filmed in May and there are rumors from the last few days about Kourtney asking Scott to go to rehab, including one from an unnamed "insider" source that spoke to RadarOnline, but it seems that Kourtney is seeking a different kind of help for Scott, or at least she was in May.
Anyone who's seen earlier seasons of KUWTK and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami remembers the old Scott who just couldn't stop partying, so Kourtney's immediate concern is more than understandable. Scott is depressed over the recent loss of both of his parents and it was clear in the finale that Kourtney is worried he's getting close to another downward spiral. She was so worried that she discussed having Scott seek some kind of treatment with her mother.
She asked Kris Jenner about a place in Arizona and if it's really the best, and while it's unclear what exactly she's talking about, it's likely some sort of counseling program, as Kris responded that she doesn't think a group setting would work for Scott because of his social anxiety. Kris referenced an Alcoholics Anonymous-type program, in which people stand up and introduce themselves to a group and said she doesn't think it would help. Kourtney and Scott went to counseling in Tucson in last season's KUWTK finale, so it's possible that Kourtney wanted Scott to go to a similar place to deal with his grief over his parents' deaths and try to prevent him from falling into old habits.
However that idea quickly disappeared, as the next time we see Kourtney she's telling Kim that she wants to spend the summer in the Hamptons to help Scott, which we all knew was coming, thanks to the Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons spinoff. Unfortunately, we also know that Scott's problems won't disappear when they get to the Hamptons. Scott was hospitalized with alcohol poisoning in July following his Hamptons birthday party, so it seems going across the country didn't do what Kourtney was hoping it would.
But that doesn't mean the rumors about him attending rehab are true. While Scott hadn't reached the worst of his issues yet in May, Kourtney seems to want to be with him as he seeks help, and it was the idea of getting away that drew her to going to the Hamptons. Hopefully Scott and Kourtney will find a way to work through his issues together, so that they are in a better place for the birth of their baby later this year.
