9 Epic Recipes for Your Favorite TV Premieres This Season, from ‘New Girl’ to ‘Scandal’
TV junkies, this one’s for you. Our film buff friends may live for Hollywood glamor — but we like our premieres just the way they are: in our living rooms, where pants are strictly optional. Because let’s face it: As much as we love a good awards show every now and again, we like snuggling up on our couch under a blanket so much more.
Here’s where we draw the line, though. You can parade around in your skivvies. You can even yell at Nick Miller to get his act together (although he’s your secret spirit animal). But please, for the love of Olivia Pope, don’t drown yourself in microwave popcorn again. It’s fall premiere season — and we’re going to do it right. Lucky for you, we put together a menu inspired by our favorite shows returning to the small screen this month, from New Girl pretzels to Once Upon a Time hot chocolate. Whip these recipes up and then get ready for a TV binge — you’ve earned it.

New Girl + Soft Pretzels
Had a rough day? On your period? You need these cookie-stuffed soft pretzels, stat. And probably the season premiere of New Girl . Zooey Deschanel’s perfect bangs are coming at you on Sept. 16. Thanks, Half Baked Harvest!

The Big Bang Theory + Satay
The boys are back on Sept. 22 — which means you have a date with Thai food. Preferably Mee Krob, although we won’t be upset if you make us Steamy Kitchen’s beef satay instead.

NCIS: New Orleans + Beignets
Is anyone else excited about yet another NCIS spin-off? No? Just me? Still, if we’re getting to know the crime team down in NoLa, this can only mean more foodie screen time starting Sept. 23 — and that’s never a bad thing. Until then, get your beignet fix over at Lady and Pups.

Scandal + Red Wine Granita
After a long week, all we want to do is split a bottle of wine with our girl Olivia Pope. Turn it into an icy, elegant granita à la Honestly Yum … and save a glass for the season premiere Sept. 25.

Once Upon a Time + Hot Chocolate
Some shows are best suited to booze; others, to sunny, tropical juices with an umbrella on top. But Once Upon a Time ? Hot chocolate, with a sprinkle of cinnamon, of course. Frozen’s Elsa and Anna will kick off the season on Sept. 28. Thanks, Offbeat + Inspired!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine + Coffee and Doughnuts
Tales from the 99th precinct just wouldn’t be complete without the requisite coffee and doughnuts. Half Baked Harvest combines the two into one magical drink for the Sept. 28 premiere.
