What Can We Expect From 'Baskets'?

by Sofia Barrett-Ibarria

Zach Galifianakis is returning to TV in the best way possible. On Wednesday, FX announced that it officially gave the green light to Baskets , a new series co-created by Galifianakis, Louis C.K., and Jonathan Krisel. According to Vulture, Galifianakis plays Chip Baskets, a Bakersfield man who dreams of becoming a professional clown but ends up taking a job at a rodeo after a failed attempt to learn the trade at a prestigious Parisian clowning school. The ten-episode comedy series will begin production in 2015 and debut in 2016. FX executive producer Eric Schrier says, “To say Zach’s portrayal of the lead character Chip Baskets is hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating would be an understatement [...] We can’t wait for the world to meet him.”

Now that we're all pumped about what will probably be an amazing show, the sad news is we'll have to sit and wait in anticipation for while. But it will be worth it.

All anyone can do at this point is dream about how "hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating" this show will probably be, and let our imaginations run wild with the limitless possibilities. After much thoughtful consideration (meaning anxious fantasies about the show), here are a few things we will probably see in Baskets when it finally arrives.

Clowns. Lots of weird, sad clowns

Get used to it.

There will be clowns behaving very, very badly

Possibly an inebriated clown or two.

Some classic Galifianakis clothing ensembles

And a good amount of gleeful frolicking.

Probably some gross-out humor

Not a snakeskin.

Hopefully, there will be music

And some impromptu song and dance numbers.

Maybe some clown action sequences

And LOTS of pies. PIES ON PIES ON PIES.

Louis C.K. will probably be there

Naturally. It's going to be great.
