When Does Little Mix's Next Album Come Out?

A good girl group is not to be taken for granted. Looking back over the years of great female pop ensembles — The Supremes, The Shirelles, and later, the Spice Girls and Destiny's Child — great lady bands have produced some of the defining songs of each generation. That's why we need more girl-group pop in our lives. So, what about this generation's girl groups? Well, one of the biggest groups right now is Little Mix, so if you have a few questions about them, that's no surprise. For instance, when does Little Mix's new album come out? Will I be able to tell their music apart from Fifth Harmony's? Will it fill the void in my heart left by pop girl groups of yore like B*Witched, 3LW, and Dream? Well, only time can tell with those last two questions, but it does look like their new album is in the works.

Currently, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson are all throwing all their creative energy into creating a kick-ass third album. Luckily, they don't have a rigorous schedule on the road to slow them down. Back in July, the group released a statement postponing the U.S. leg of their Salute tour, which would've lasted well into fall, in favor of banging out their third album. The group posted the following message via Instagram in early July, emphasizing that this was a postponement and not a cancellation, and saying that this choice was ultimately for the long-term payoff of producing a great album.

With the decision made to put a premium on their album, the Little Mix girls have likely been spending a whole lot of time mixing up tracks. Well, from what we can glean via Instagram, this is so. As evidence, we have a handful of social media teasers. Edwards posted the following picture to the group's Instagram in July.

Furthermore, here are the girls grinding out the new sick beats. Nah, just kidding. They're just goofing off at the office. Procrastination or not, they appear to be at a facility for recording music, so that's good!

Silliness fosters creativity, y'all. If you needed a bit more concrete encouragement that something was actually coming from all this, there are tweets to confirm! Just earlier today, the band posted this message on Twitter:

So that's great! They're down in the trenches banging out tunes with nothing to slow 'em down. Now that we know they're in the studio, can we get a general time stamp for that album release?

Well, let's look at their record release history. Since the group's official birth in 2011, when they won the eighth season of The X Factor, the quartet of girls has managed to put out an album every year. In November 2012, they released their debut studio album DNA. A year later in November 2013, they released their Sophomore album Salute. Check out the music video for the title single below:

Given this pace and the precedent they've set for releasing albums in November, and the fact that they're already hard at work, we can hope for the next Little Mix album to be released around Turkey Day. Be on the lookout for new Little Mix music as you cram your gullet with stuffing!
