'Bachelor' Star Gia Allemand Dies at 29
UPDATE: Allemand's cause of death has been released. The Bachelor star died following a suicide attempt.
EARLIER: A massive blow for the Bachelor franchise: Gia Allemand, the beloved star of Season 14 of The Bachelor, has died at 29. The reality star — who appeared on Jake Pavelka's season of The Bachelor and on Season 3 of Bachelor Pad — was hospitalized Monday in New Orleans following a "serious medical event." Reports this morning indicated that Allemand was on life support.
At this time, nothing else is known about what Allemand passed away from. TMZ, however, reports the reality star's mother and boyfriend, New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson, were at her side when she died.
Allemand's passing led to an outpouring of love for the Bachelor star and her family, who had asked for privacy during Allemand's hospitalization in New Orleans. Allemand's reality TV brethren have taken to Twitter to express sadness about the loss of the model (and their confusion over what exactly led to the hospitalization of the reality star). It's not surprising, considering how loved the reality star was during Season 14 of Bachelor and her subsequent stint in Bachelor Pad. Below, see just a few examples of how friends and fans of the Bachelor star are paying tribute to Allemand on their social media accounts.
