Once you’ve been living with your significant other for a while, there comes a point when you realize that you do all sorts of bizarre things around each other at home. It’s kind of nice to reach this phase; you no longer have to worry about accidentally doing something embarrassing in front of the other person, because at this point, nothing is embarrassing anymore. When you stop to think about it, though, some of these habits we adopt are… a little strange. BuzzFeed Yellow knows and understands this, which is why they’ve brought us a delightful video detailing the many weird things all couples do.
It’s actually pretty amazing how many of these quirks and living habits BuzzFeed managed to cram into two and a half minutes; who knew there were so many things you can only get away with doing in front of someone who sees you naked on the regular? I don’t know about you, but my SO and I are guilty of a pretty good number of them, including, but not limited to:
- Trying to hold a conversation with simultaneously accomplishing tooth brushing (although we don’t usually do this while the other person is in the shower);
- Accidentally wearing the same thing;
- Singing to our cats;
- And ditching uncomfortable pieces of clothing as soon as we walk in the door (but then again, don’t most people do this, anyway? I mean, come on. Who wants to be wearing pants when they don’t have to? Or bras? Or whatever?).
We don’t sing Sweeney Todd together in the car, although occasionally I’ll do it when I’m alone in the house — and since I work from home, while he actually has to, y’know, commute, I get a lot of alone time. Oh! Hey, BuzzFeed? I have an idea for your next video for you: “Weird Things Everyone Does When No One Else Is Home.” I can’t be the only person who embraces her inner Broadway diva whenever I’m left to my own devices.
