This Could be a 'Bachelor' Shocker

by Tanya Ghahremani

Though it's been looking like next season's The Bachelor (still unannounced!) is going to be one of this past season's Bachelorette contenders Chris Soules, it seems that ABC is still looking at a ton of other options for the huge gig — Arie Luyendyk Jr. from season 8, for one, and, now, another very familiar face. According to Us Weekly, this past season's runner-up Nick Viall is a "top contender" for The Bachelor next season, and ABC is reportedly "strongly considering" him for the title.

"Viewers are interested in what he has to say," says the insider of Viall, who unforgettably announced that he and Dorfman "made love" in the Fantasy Suite. For now, though, he'll have to beat the likes of season eight's Arie Luyendyk Jr. and sexy farmer Chris Soules, both of whom are also being considered.

That whole "made love" comment — which Bachelorette Andi Dorfman correctly referred to as "below the belt" aside, Nick doesn't seem too terrible a choice, but he's not completely right for the gig. ABC can do a lot better, though, and the answer is seriously right in front of them: Luyendyk Jr. broke up with Emily Maynard in a highly publicized split, and he's pretty much perfect for the job. The guy is funny, well-liked, and he even hated Juan Pablo like the rest of us! Plus, he wants the job. Win/win, ABC!

No word on when ABC is going to make their official decision, but it better be soon: fans are pretty much tearing out their hair in anticipation...and it kind of sounds like ABC execs are too. At this point, someone needs to just make a choice!
