Harry Potter And 'Scott Pilgrim' Together At Last

It's a pairing that I would never have thought of, but works perfectly: Harry Potter in the style of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Someone created a trailer for the Harry Potter films with all the comic book effects, indie music, and humor of Scott Pilgrim. Rather than a trailer for just one of the movies, it brings together the most Scott Pilgrim-y moments from most of the Potter films: the awkward romance, one-liners, and action scenes. Luckily, the lighter moments in the Harry Potter movies are my favorite, and this trailer took out most of the darkness, making the films into comedic action movies.

It made me think for the first time: The Harry Potter series would be amazing in comic book form. Can't you imagine Ron's befuddled look taking up a panel, or the way an illustrator might depict a spell? Apparently, I (as well as the creators of this mashup) am not alone. There have, of course, been a few adaptations of the series for the comic medium, but none seem to have gotten big. I guess the idea was too good to be original. The creator of this video also has a lot of other great mashups, such as Star Wars in the style of Guardians of the Galaxy and a bunch in the style of Power Rangers, so you should check those out for some more entertaining mashups.
