Asia's Best Videos Prove She's the Next Big Thing

Lifetime must have recognized young dancer Asia Monet Ray's undeniable starpower the second she appeared on Dance Moms. When you're as talented as Asia is, you tend to stand out. An obvious fan favorite, it was really only a matter of time before she got her own spinoff. To be honest, I'm surprised it took this long for a network to snap her up and get her some more screen time. For those of you who are new to the dance world, or who just plain don't know who Asia Monet is, I've compiled a little beginners guide so you can hop head first into her new docuseries, Raising Asia, which premieres on July 29th.

Asia is an eight-year-old triple threat. To say she's a triple threat is actually kind of an understatement, really. The product of bodybuilder Shawn Ray and former model/bodybuilder Kristie Ray, Asia combines an intense athleticism, a fierceness that would rival Beyoncé herself, hard-hitting choreography, a great voice, and that little something special that someone needs to become a star. She's been dancing since she was two years old, a fact that becomes apparent every time you see her dance.

At this point, Asia is sort of a household name. She's a Youtube star with dozens and dozens of dance videos. Pretty much every video she's ever starred in has earned at least 100,000 views, some venturing into the millions. Take a look at some stuff that earned Monet a spot on primetime TV.

SHE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOREVER

Check out this video of Asia, who was just four years old when this video was filmed, busting some moves I couldn't do in my wildest dreams. I don't think I can even do a full split, and I'm 22 years old.

If you're not convinced, this was filmed only two years later. At six years old, I wasn't doing anything even close to this.
