"Bang Bang" Is A Banger
Monday afternoon, I received a text from fellow Bustler Alex Kritselis that would alter the rest of my day for the better: He let me know “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj made its way onto the Internet the day before its official release. Do you want to hear it a day before it hits the radio? Of course you do. Hop on over to Consequence of Sound and listen to it there.
(There is a weird sped up version making its way around the web, but I sincerely doubt that's the real "Bang Bang." It's too frenetic. Doesn't feel right.)
How do I feel about the song? Do I love it yet? Erm, ever since I received that fateful text, I’ve had “Bang Bang” blaring through my computer speakers on repeat. I can't get enough. I’m pretty sure it was love at first listen. And at second listen. And at third listen. And at four— you get it.
I mean, of course I’m a mess over this song. It’s a track that includes both Grande and Jessie J executing flawless handsprings and aerials with their voices AND Minaj setting the place on fire with her lightning-fast verse. WHAT A DREAM. The Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Ilya-produced song has "major hit" written all over it.
My goal for summer 2014: "memorize this song so I can really wow* anyone sitting in my passenger seat any and every time 'Bang Bang' plays on the radio."
*I am a terrible singer, but by golly, I try!
