She Def Deserves to Host MTV's "House of Style"

Is it just me, or has this been a summer packed full of throwbacks? First it was the return of Birkenstocks and other slide-on sandals (a trend I’m not sure I’ll ever get on board with), then it was Ariana Grande’s revival of TRL for one day only. Last week, it was announced that Beyonce’s most memorable outfits of the past would be put on display at the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame, and just this week, we were all met with the good news that Fashion Rocks is finally returning.

But wait! The good news doesn’t stop there, fashion lovers, because MTV announced on Thursday that its much-beloved fashion-meets-music show House of Style is back with — hold onto your seats — Australian rap sensation Iggy Azalea as the new host.

The show — which will premiere on MTV on August 4 and run for eight episodes — will highlight the connection between fashion, music, and technology, with Azalea snagging interviews with amazing designers and style stars, as well as covering the latest fads in fashion.

And just in case you find yourself wondering why the “Fancy” rapper was chosen to host the reincarnation of the cult-classic show, I’ve taken the liberty of rounding up nine of her best red-carpet moments that prove she most definitely has the fashion chops to nail this gig.

1. At the 2014 Billboard Music Awards

Changing out her often-edgy looks for something a little more romantic, Azalea looked ethereal, feminine, and still seductive in her deep red Zuhair Murad gown at the annual awards show.

2. At a radio interview in NYC

An all-over print this strong would overwhelm the average star, but Azalea pulls it off with ease with the help of nude heels, low-key hair, and natural makeup.

3. At the 2014 Brit Awards

Looking like the ultimate in sophistication, the rapper stunned in a minimalistic Elie Saab gown that featured just the slightest hint of sexy skin.

4. At the 2014 Grammys

The Aussie was a vision in her beaded white Elie Saab gown, which got a touch of cool-girl style thanks to her slicked-back strands.

5. At the 2013 EMA Awards

Leaving little to the imagination in her uber-revealing Dilek Hanif number, Azalea certainly showed us everything she's working with on the red carpet.

It may be a Halloween costume, but it's definitely the chicest I've ever seen. Plus, the hair, heels, and that adorable puppy make the best accessories.

The laid-back, effortlessly chic vibe Azalea delivered at the Chloe Spring '14 show was totally enviable, from her crisp white blouse down to her shiny, strappy sandals.

8. At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards

I've yet to figure out how Azalea made this amazingly embellished but super-sheer Emilio Pucci gown look every bit glamorous and not one bit raunchy.

9. At the VH1 Divas 2012

The sheer panelling on this body-hugging gown is perfection, as is that wavy platinum hair and barely-there makeup.
