Blake & Ryan Go All Out With Birthday Gifts

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of Hollywood's more private couples. In fact, they're one of Hollywood's most private couples. So, it was a bit of a surprise when Lively opened up about Reynolds (a bit) in Vogue's 73 Questions video. The super-stylish actress dished about the incredibly sweet, incredibly thoughtful birthday presents they've gotten one another (for him: a collection of short stories from loved ones; for her: a video of all the people who made an impact in her life) to Reynold's nickname for their kitchen (the Blakery since Lively bakes so much). It's so sweet, and the actress doesn't hesitate for a second before giving her answers, which is kind of surprising given how they normally shield their relationship from the press.

Overall, the video is completely adorable and I'll personally give you $5 if it doesn't give you a hankering for overly-frosted cupcakes — but there is one odd aspect to it. When asked what movie she laughed hardest at, Lively replied, The Shawshank Redemption. Um, wha? I'm assuming this was the Gossip Girl star's attempt at humor, but kind of didn't get it. And it didn't seem to go with the loveliness and DIYness of the rest of the video. It was just plain... odd.

Whatever. Lively's still adorable and she clearly makes a mean cupcake. Also, I think it's time the rest of us up our birthday gift game. A collection of short stories from loved ones? Damn.
