Emma Stone's Obsessed With Him, Too
Sometimes, you just need a little refresher in order to spark an old flame and incite all those long stashed away feelings you thought had died. In this case, the old flame is Colin Firth and the refresher is Emma Stone. If you've forgotten about Firth with all of his romanticism and sensitivity, Stone is happy to remind you. She even found the time to live critique one of his performance via text message to him. "I live-texted Colin the plot of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason a few months back while I was watching it," Stone explained to The Daily Beast during a joint interview with Firth.
Stone, like many of us, is a huge Colin Firth romcom fangirl. And why not? He's brooding, tall, and has puppy dog eyes that open straight to his beautiful soul. As she drudges up her old sentiments about him, referencing Bridget Jones and Love Actually, she's inadvertently making us swoon. But true to her silly demeanor, she can't let any of us get too emotional about it. "You're a quote whore is what you are. You have so many quotes that I can't see straight. You're like the quote village bicycle," she says to Firth alluding to his often repeatable and poetic dialogue. She's got a point. Whether it's Love Actually, Pride & Prejudice, or Bridget Jones I find myself reciting his lines, starry-eyed, and in disbelief how someone could be so adorable.
Just so you don't forget ever again, here is why Firth is, and always will be, swoon-worthy:
THIS AMAZING MOMENT THAT STONE RECITED IN ALL OF ITS GLORY
OR WHEN HE SAID THIS EVEN THOUGH SHE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND HIM
OR WHEN HE SIMPLY MADE SIPPING TEA LOOK SEXY
OR, YOU KNOW, THIS
HE KNOWS HOW TO BREAK IT DOWN
AND WHEN TO BE ALL PROTECTIVE & JEALOUS
AND HE SOLVED THAT WHOLE "NICE GUY" PROBLEM
HE ALWAYS MANAGES TO MAINTAIN THAT ENDEARING VULNERABILITY
AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, BECAUSE HE IS MR. DARCY & THAT IS REASON ENOUGH
