You Should Be Jealous of Their Kid
Is anyone else jealous of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ newborn baby, Otis? Aside from the usual infant perks like being carried on mommy’s shoulder, being able to poop and sleep wherever, and not to mention the stroller privileges — seriously, I can’t be the only one who gets a teensy bit jealous when I see a baby being pushed down the sidewalk all comfortable without a care in the world — baby Otis has Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis for parents. They’re like that rad couple I would want to invite to everything from dinner parties to paint ball matches to Scrabble nights, so Otis is set for the best childhood. This is the first child for both actors, and Wilde was quick to share her first lesson in motherhood with a tweet shortly after Otis’ birth in April saying, “Having an infant son alerts me to the fact that every man, at one point has peed on his own face. #awesome.” At least she has a positive attitude about it, because it’s always good to know the messy bits right off the bat.
Wilde recently shared an Instagram pic of herself with her son peering over her shoulder. She captioned the pic, “Rock and roll, Baby,” so obviously that baby’s in proper, reliable, super cool hands. If you need more proof, here's some hardcore evidence as to why Otis is going to have a blast growing up.
He’ll Get the Best Lullabys
Remember this Mumford and Sons self-mocking music video for "Hopeless Wanderer" that Sudeikis shot with Jason Bateman, Ed Helms, and Will Forte? Imagine what the group could do with Brahm’s "Lullaby" or even "Rockabye Baby." Yeah that kid will be put to bed real good.
He’ll Have a Deep Understanding of Right & Wrong
Because the SNL Devil’s spawn would surely pick up a thing or two about the ultimate battle between good versus evil.
He’ll Be Okay in a Scrape
Scraped knee? Scraped elbow? Mysterious illness that has symptoms of lupus? House’s Thirteen will know what to do in a jiffy.
He’ll Get the Best Dad Jokes
Otis has SNL alum Sudeikis and pun-ny tweeter Wilde as parents, so of course there will be amazing dad jokes to be had.
He’ll Use His Powers for Good
And he can start off with the DoSomething.org onesie the organization gave his mama, who is a supporter for Gucci’s “Chime for Change” and the Fair Foods campaign.
His Parents Love Each Other
In an interview with InStyle magazine, Wilde spoke candidly about her relationship with her fiancé: “It’s the model I grew up with. It’s part of why I was able to take so many chances in my life, because I felt like someone was watching my back. I could never imagine life without someone I respect, someone who offers me infinite possibilities.”
Yup, Otis is pretty much set for those first steps, getting the training wheels off, and going to college. He's in good company for all of it.
