These Disney Stars Want to Build a Snowman
Just when the influx of Frozen fan covers has finally slowed down, Disney is getting back in the game. Technically, Disney released the very first Frozen cover with Demi Lovato's "Let It Go" single, but since then it's been all fans singing along or parodying the songs ad nauseam. At this point, it's pretty likely that not even Elsa and Anna want to build a snowman ever again. However, Disney got 26 Disney Channel stars to sing this Frozen cover in honor of their Frozen weekend. The video and song are set to debut on the Disney Channel app and Radio Disney respectively, which is about as official as you can get without being on the actual Frozen soundtrack.
The music video features behind the scenes footage with stars from such shows as Liv and Maddie, Good Luck Charlie, Austin and Ally, and even the newest Disney Channel show Girl Meets World. The Disney celebrities seem to be having as much fun goofing around with one another as they are singing the song and while the auto-tune is strong with a few of them, overall it's a gorgeous and faithful rendition of one of the saddest songs in the entire film.
Sure, you might have thought you were going to bang your head against the wall if you had to listen to another Frozen cover (and even I will admit that there are other songs in the film that I'd like to hear a cover of for once), but this music video will make you come for the song and stay for the latest generation Disney stars, most of whom you probably can't name. After this, it's just a matter of time before we have a Kids Bop: Frozen Edition album coming out. Or a Disney Frozen cover album. I'm not picky here.
