If you feel like you've heard Weird Al Yankovic's name more in the past couple of days than you have in whole of the past couple of years, you're not wrong: Over the last few days, Yankovic has released a slew of new parody material, including a parody of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" called "Word Crimes," a parody of Pharrell's "Happy" called "Tacky," a parody of Lorde's "Royals" called "Foil," and a parody of Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" called "Handy." Phew — that's a lot of parodies. Now, though, we've got another: Weird Al Yankovic just released "Sports Song," a parody of, I guess, sports songs, only it's actually 10x better than any sports song I've ever heard. True to Weird Al's name, it is weird, but it's...oddly motivational? Like, just look at this first line:
"Your sports team is vastly inferior/ the simple fact is plainly obvious to see/ We're gonna kick your collective posterior/ Of course, you realize we're speaking figuratively."
I MEAN. It's like he's speaking from the heart directly to me, to all of us. (And he's obviously talking about Manchester United because they're the greatest sports team ever, don't question me.)
