And This Is Why We <3 You, Kate Spade

by Sara Tan

I know what you're thinking — Kate Spade doesn't already have a swimwear line? That's precisely the thought that came across my mind, too, but it appears as though the all-American women's lifestyle brand was lacking in the bikini department. Perhaps that's the reason I've had trouble finding the perfect swimsuit all these years! But come November, we'll all be able to shop Kate Spade's retro-inspired swim collection of about 70 pieces.

Kate Spade has decided to team up with New York–based licensee Swimwear Anywhere to create a line of 12 one-piece suits and 52 separates. And just as you'd expect, it'll have Kate Spade's girly-meets-retro flair to it — bold prints, high-waisted bottoms, vintage-inspired one-pieces, and more. According to InStyle, it'll also include cover-ups made from beachy fabrics like Italian crepe and liquid lamé.

"It’s retro reimagined, classic with a twist, and pays homage to our heritage, whether with a classic black and white stripe, a graphic dot, or an artisanal print," said Kate Spade President and COO Deborah Llloyd in a statement.

The swimwear line will be a part of the Kate Spade cruise collection and will range from $120 to $200. The collection will have a soft launch during Mercedes-Benz Swim Week Miami later this year.
