'Mockingjay's New Teaser Has A Hot Interruption
The first time around, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 teaser sent chills down my spine when it revealed Josh Hutcherson's Peeta standing stoically beside evil dictator President Snow. The second Mockingjay teaser, released Wednesday, isn't quite as chilling — but it is even more badass. Because where there's an evil dictator, there's got to be a rebellion.
The final Hunger Games book focuses on the full-scale rebellion taking place in the Capitol, and this teaser does an admirable job of, well, teasing that: We start out as we did before, with President Snow delivering a speech to the Panem audience, this time, with both Peeta and Jena Malone's Johanna Mason beside him. But when his broadcast is interrupted, Jeffrey Wright's Beetee Latier appears. "This is a pirate transmission from District 13," he says. "With a message: The Mockingjay lives."
We still haven't seen any of Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen in these teasers — but for once, you won't hear me complaining about that. We've also yet to see any actual footage from the movie, and while it'd be great to get some of that eventually, for now, these teasers are doing a bang-up job building the world and conflict of the Panem revolution. Protagonists being held (and turned?) by the empire, a mysterious new district, an entire war to fight, and a hero hidden away? Sounds like a great story to me. And I can't wait.
And is anyone else finding Beetee, like, super hot right now?
