Vicki and Brooks: Still Happening?

Last week’s Real Housewives of Orange County episode followed plenty of relationship drama, but Vicki Gunvalson’s relationship with Brooks Ayers has never seemed better, even though fans (and pretty much everyone with a brain) hate him. Last month, Vicki suffered blowback from her followers after posting a picture on her Instagram with Brooks and a few friends enjoying a concert. Since then, she hasn’t posted much, but what she has doesn’t include Ayers.

There have been many rumors online about Vicki playing the field, while other reports claim she's moved on from Brooks to lawyer John Pankauski. However just a few days ago, Vicki gave a surprisingly candid interview to Reality Tea where she admits how her relationship with Brooks boosts her confidence and that he gives her the reassurance she needs.

Don't we all want to feel loved and reaffirmed that we are attractive? He's very complimentary to me and he always makes me know I'm important to him. This is one of the many things I enjoy about him […] In my past relationships, I didn't have that and I have realized through counseling and many books that my love language is affirmation. Once you know your love language, it's easier to decide who you match up good with.

So, in the words of the 90s — he’s not Mr. Right, he’s Mr. Right Now. The interview suggests that somehow, even after audio of Brooks threatening to harm Vicki was released and he encouraged her son-in-law to abuse her daughter as well, Vicki and Brooks are still together. Here’s hoping that by the time next season rolls around, Vicki will stop turning to Brooks for confidence and find the self-esteem to be on her own.
