Will She Be Your Favorite on 'BB 16'?
The 16th season of everyone's favorite televised mad house Big Brother kicks off on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on CBS and with it, a new group of willing mad house participants. Sixteen people may seem like a lot to keep track of, but with this season's twist of having four houseguests put up for eviction and two evicted by the two Head of Households, this cast should dwindle pretty darn quickly. But before we find out who gets cut or goes the distance, we wanted to get to know them. Houseguest Frankie Grande has had the slight edge with fans going in thanks to name recognition (he's Ariana Grande's brother), but his fellow houseguest what about Christine Brecht?
Not only is she a Big Brother super fan (always an advantage) but the 23-year-old barista who hails from Tuscon, Arizona doesn't fit the typical Big Brother mold (another advantage) who describes herself as "eccentric and hilarious." So, let's get to know her!
Here are nine things to know about Christine Brecht before Wednesday's season premiere.
She Already Has an Official Twitter Fan Page
As of Wednesday afternoon, Christine had a little over 360 followers, but we're guessing after the premiere that will probably grow. She has her own Twitter page, too, but it's private.
She Has An Adorably Supportive Husband
The Big Brother houseguest is married to musician Timothy Brecht, whose Twitter profile reads, "[Christine] is my wife, and that's pretty great."
She Has a "Nice" Strategy
Christine isn't looking for reality TV fame so much as the opportunity to fulfill her dream of becoming a casting director. Her strategy for winning? "I plan on being nice and having everyone confide in me to get information from all over the house. I really want to have a strong pack with only three to four people that I stay loyal to till the end. I don't want to play both sides of the house, but I'm not saying I won't."
She's a Nerd for Settlers of Catan
Christine said that not only is playing Settlers of Catan one of her favorite activities, but along with her cell phone and a Spice Girls CD (!), it's one of the things she'd bring into the Big Brother house if she could. We'll see if her strategies in Settlers of Catan translates to reality TV.
She's Also Crazy For Disney
She's been to Disneyland more than 50 times. Good thing she likes wild rides.
She Keeps the Faith
Her Twitter bio reads "I love me some Jesus" and told CBS that her life motto is "Love people and be happy!" In fact, she showed some major love when she once threw a surprise party for a homeless man in a park.
She Knows Her Big Brother Veterans
Christine cites Howie (Season 6) as her favorite, though she gives kudos to all-star Mike Boogie's (Seasons 2, 7, and 14) game play and Helen's (Season 14) "ability to feel out what was happening in the house."
She Has a Weakness
Though she was in a hot air balloon accident in high school, her real fear is moths. Or "most flying bugs," really. She better hope no one in the house finds that little tidbit out and exploits it.
She Has a Fun Nickname
It's Bubbles!
