With everything from 3D-printed makeup to houses becoming a reality, it was only a matter of time before the sex industry got in on the fun — and now, thanks to a magical little Internet tool called the Extrusion/Revolution Generator, you can design and 3D print your very own bespoke dildo. True story.
According to the Telegraph, the Extrusion/Revolution Generator — or dildo-generator.com — is the brainchild of Berlin-based program Ikaros Kappler. Upon loading the site, you’re presented with a basic 2D model; then, by dragging points around a graph, you can adjust it to exact the size, shape, and color you want. This means, of course, that you aren’t limited to toys that look like your regular ol’ run-of-the-mill penis — Isha Aran over at Jezebel, for example, tried (and, alas, failed) to make one shaped like a dolphin, while The Mary Sue’s Victoria McNally came up with a whole bunch of patterns for everything ranging from umbrellas to wine glasses. A little panel on the side of the generator keeps you updated as to your creation’s size, volume, and weight, too, so you can keep an eye on how much silicon your new toy is going to need.
Of course, you’re going to need access to a silicon 3D printer if you’re going to make your dream dildo a reality. Luckily, if you don’t have one of your own (like most of us), you’ve got a few options: If you live in the Berlin area, Kappler can point you toward a Hackerspace that’ll get the job done; or, if you’re elsewhere, hie thee to thy local 3D printer.
