Bill & Sookeh: Family Edition

by Casey Rackham

You know what? Considering the fact Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are both in the spotlight, it's quite surprising (and impressive) that their children have pretty traditional names. They had a whole slew of outlandish, "quirky," and my-parents-are-famous names that they could have picked from, but instead they decided to give their children a fair start in life by gracing them with names befitting of the cute, little babies they came out as.

The True Blood superstars welcomed twins (a boy and a girl) into the world in 2012 and gave them some super classy and cute names: Charlie and Poppy. Yeah, that's right — they're famous and they didn't give their children completely outrageous names. (And the name Poppy isn't ridiculous because Moyer is from England and that's totally a common name.) Yay, Paquin and Moyer! What's even more insane is that the couple managed to keep their children's names under wraps for nine whole months. Honestly, we didn't even know that was possible. The media is usually on top of their shit when it comes to celebrities' babies, but somehow the parents put some voodoo-vampire magic on the public, which successfully kept their kids from Hollywood's prying eyes. Seriously, that's one impressive feat.

Moyer actually deserves even more brownie points because he has two children from a previous marriage that also have some pretty normal names: Billy and Lilac (how pretty). Basically, Hollywood should be taking notes because Paquin and Moyer are totally owning this parenting thing. Combined, the couple successfully named four human beings, and that's something to be applauded in this North-Bear-Pilot-Inspektor day and age.

And because not every celebrity is as "forward thinking" as Gwyneth Paltrow (oh hai, Apple and Moses), there are a bunch of other famous parents who went the Paquin-and-Moyer route when it came to their children's names. Check out these celebs who have more of a traditional taste:

Beyonce's younger sister named her son Daniel. Hopefully his cousin Blue Ivy doesn't make him feel badly about his "commoner" name. (Although, it seems like Daniel goes by "Julez" more than he goes by his first name.)

His children's names are Michael, Brendan, Ella, and Grace. That's four for four.

Owen Wilson

Although his sons' names are Robert Ford and Finn, he gets minus points for trying to make Robert a president before he can even walk.

Paul Stanley

Stanley, who's a member of KISS, might be completely outrageous in his facepaint on stage, but at home, he lives a tamer life with his children Evan, Sarah, Emily, and Colin.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck

We'll give two and a half points to Garner and Affleck for Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. Seraphina is somewhat pushing it. Valiant effort, though.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

When they could have gone with something like North West, Mason and Penelope seem as traditional as Jack and Jane. But, she's pregnant with a third child, so they still have a chance to pull a Kim and Kanye.
