Kelly Clarkson Finally Had Her Baby!

by Martha Sorren

The wait is officially over: Kelly Clarkson's gave birth! After what felt like an eternity to both us and Clarkson herself (seriously, it felt like she was pregnant FOR. EV. ER.) the singer delivered her baby girl on June 12, six days earlier than her reported due date. Yeah, for the longest pregnancy ever, it actually ended six days before it was supposed to — funny how things turn out. Of course, like any good celebrity should, Clarkson announced the news on her Twitter this morning.

Though we don't yet have any pics of the newest addition to her family, Clarkson did reveal her daughter's name: River Rose Blackstock. She's the first child for both Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, and the singer sounded really excited: In her tweet, Clarkson said, "Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)"

Part of that enthusiasm no doubt stems from Clarkson being glad that the pregnancy portion of the experience is over. Just last week she tweeted: “My baby girl needs to come on out ASAP. Mama is tired, swollen and miserable hahaha!” She also admitted to Ellen DeGeneres back in December that she was vomiting about 12 times a day.

Everybody tells you [that] you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty. That is total crap. My nails are short, my hair still falls out — it’s not all lush and beautiful — and I have no glow. Unless it’s, like, something left over from a bad throw up. It’s horrible.

But now that the gross part is over, Clarkson and Blackstock just get to enjoy their new baby and hopefully share a photo soon — we can't wait to see her.
